Advanced Pediatrics 2: Childhood Eczema & Dermatology

Soma will present real cases from her private practice and will cover in-depth treatment protocols with acupuncture, sho-ni-shin techniques and herbal medicine, as well as take a look at life style and nutritional issues.

In this workshop, you will learn:
  • How to differentiate and treat diverse types of skin rashes in infants and children and to understand the etiology of eczema and its connection with allergy and asthma
  • How phlegm plays an important role in most eczema / asthma / allergy combination
  • Dietary and lifestyle factors which aggravate or directly contribute to childhood eczema. We will cover acupuncture point prescriptions, sho-ni-shin protocol and herbal formulas with modifications for acute and chronic eczema, as well as impetigo and urticaria
This workshop is for anyone interested in treating children within the scope of Oriental Medicine and is best suited for students and practitioners of Chinese Medicine. There is no prior requirement for taking this workshop.

About Soma Glick, D.O.M. (NM), L.Ac., CHom.
Soma Glick is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and a diplomate in acupuncture and herbology from the NCCAOM since 1993. Upon graduating from the IICM, and attending several symposiums and workshops with recognized experts in the field of pediatrics, Soma spent several years in Southeast Asia where she got the chance to treat children while living in the island of Bali. She joined the faculty of SWAC, in Boulder, in 1998, where she is now a full professor.  Since then, she has designed and teaches a full term course in pediatric acupuncture, gives professional pediatric clinics, supervises pediatric clinics for students, has given pediatric seminars nationally and worldwide and lectured on pediatric acupuncture at the Boulder Community Hospital. She sees an ever growing number of children in her private practice and has written several  articles on the subject of pediatric acupuncture, which appeared in the  “Acupuncture Today" journal.

  • ACCHS is unable to transfer course fees paid for one seminar or course to any other seminar or course.
  • In the unlikely event that ACCHS has to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment, or for some other unforeseen reason, registrants will receive a full refund.
